This Week in Cleveland Park Listserv
One of the best parts of our neighborhood is the small town atmosphere that the Cleveland Park Listserv helps to create. Each Friday we will pull out some (possibly out of context) gems from the Listserv to share with our neighbors and friends. We hope these outtakes of the neighborhood news will get you ready for another great weekend in Cleveland Park!
Van Ness Farmers Market Update…
I am working with UDC to find a suitable alternative space for the farmers’ market. We are trying to have it move to the plaza by Starbucks and Cornucopia. If that doesn’t work it will probably move in the University’s newly renovated and green quad. UDC will announce shortly the location.
Escalator envy…
I am spending a couple if weeks in the Boston area. For the record, *every* single escalator and elevator I have encountered on the T has worked perfectly. I noticed the same thing when I was in San Francisco on the BART.
Cleveland Park apparently hates the Steelers…
My Steelers banner was stolen again last night/this morning at 12:40 AM, May 31st. This is the third time it has happened in the brief time I’ve lived in Cleveland Park. Enough!
Waste not…
I bought Arm & Hammer Double Duty Advanced Odor Control cat litter by mistake for my cat and he hates it. Needless to say, cat litter a cat won’t use is not very helpful.
Now that’s green!
My son and I are looking to share a ride from Cleveland Park or downtown to the soccer game on Wednesday if possible. We won’t have a car but would of course share in the parking fee.
Cleveland Park as war zone?!
I can see how the open grates contributes to Metro flooding during storms, but don’t all of these grates get Metro wet when it rains? I’d hate to think that these sandbags are here forever. They’ve been there for months and months now. They’re ugly (to put it kindly) and they make Cleveland Park feel like it’s in a war zone.
Boo to flower stealing but “grizzled”?!?
I could not believe my eyes. While downtown around 18th and G Streets yesterday about 2:30 pm, I saw a white-haired kind of grizzled older fellow carrying a huge bouquet of hydragenas! It’s him. Guard your flowers and gardens. He’s back!
