This Week in Cleveland Park Listserv

One of the best parts of our neighborhood is the small town atmosphere that the Cleveland Park Listserv helps to create. Each Friday we will pull out some (possibly out of context) gems from the Listserv to share with our neighbors and friends. We hope these outtakes of the neighborhood news will get you ready for another great weekend in Cleveland Park!

I wonder if she mentioned censoring “competing” neighborhood news sources as part of the future…
Peggy Robin on the Kojo Nnamdi show. What a fun surprise to click on the radio today and hear Peggy! It was the 12 – 1 hour, The Future Of Neighborhood Communication.

Well he had no pocket for materials! Jeesh…
A young white man in his mid 20′s rang my doorbell on Macomb Street around 6 pm tonight, dressed in running clothes…He started talking about his organization, “Cross fit”, soliciting money, but he had no materials with him, was sweating from his run, and just seemed off. I told him I was actually busy, and he immediately became aggressive and said that if I was busy I should not have answered the door.

Won’t work for us anymore, but if you’re tacky enough to use it… free!
Free to someone who can use it! This headboard was designed for our former house in New Mexico, but we don’t think we will be able to continue to use it in the future.

Apple’s genius, a new key will be $99…
Does anyone have experience with fixing a top key of a MacBook Pro? I can’t seem to get it back on. My husband works only on PCs and does this all the time with his equipment but can’t get it back on.

Clearly didn’t spend a lot of time on the 4P’s patio late night, genial doesn’t come to mind…
McFadden’s is the “douchiest” bar in DC…And this is what we can apparently expect to occupy the premises long held by our genial friend and neighbor, Ireland’s Four Fields.

It’s hard to question someone’s passion…
My name is Ketura Persellin, and I’m an image consultant, writer, and public speaker. I’ve lived in and near Cleveland Park for 12 years. I believe every woman has the right to look and feel beautiful just as she is today, regardless of her age, weight, lifestyle, or budget, and helping her do that is my passion and my mission.

Another too perfectly crafted request for advice…
This week at the office hasn’t been awkward, but she wants to hang out again soon. Should I tell her I don’t see a future for us? Or should I just keep my distance? For the record, she doesn’t work in my department and neither one of us is managing the other.
