This Week in Cleveland Park Listserv

One of the best parts of our neighborhood is the small town atmosphere that the Cleveland Park Listserv helps to create. Each Friday we will pull out some (possibly out of context) gems from the Listserv to share with our neighbors and friends. We hope these outtakes of the neighborhood news will get you ready for another great weekend in Cleveland Park!

Cleveland Park, new hot bed for revolutionary sentiment…
Does anyone know anything about what seemed to be a group protest on Ordway Street between 35th and 36th street tonight around 10pm?

Filtered water for all!
There is a Britta pitcher, free for the taking, on front steps at 3314 Newark Street.

Maybe removing all the overgrown bushes has had a negative impact…
Has anyone noticed an awful stench near the Adas Israel temple on Porter Street? It smells like something has died in the little bit of shrubbery/woods between Adas Israel and Porter.

Top of the Council’s list, I’m sure…
Mosquitoes also make outdoor time unpleasant, to say the least. Isn’t it time that we all chip in to help control DC’s mosquito population? If everyone uses mosquito dunks we can reduce the mosquito population and improve our health and comfort. And perhaps a law requiring homeowners to use dunks would be a very good thing.

Good deal? Live-in Chinese immersion…
Are there any families in the area interesting in renting out their basement or guest room in exchange for a few hours of Mandarin tutoring per week? (or SAT/GRE tutoring?) I’ll provide all the teaching materials. This could be a short-term or long-term arrangement.

Specific request…
I need a loan of a Britax, Marathon (not booster) car seat for 5 year old. Just for the weekend of August 17th-18th-19th.
