Devlog #3: Alpha I

Inventory

Most of the work done for the inventory is backend. Keeping track of various pick ups and the like. We were also able to work on UI for the inventory for when we are ready to tie the two together.

Gameloop

We worked on getting our gameloop together. Now the player is able to navigate to generated train cars, fight enemies, and get off to explore the station!

Miscellenous

Collaboration

Theater Department

We started to collaborate with the Theater Department for voice acting and mocap work! This included creating actor/character documentation and some sample dialogue. We will hopefully be having auditions soon!

History Consultant

Additionally, a student in the Games Program has a bachelors in History, and volunteered to help consult on the narrative. It’s been very helpful so far in creating an identity for the world (or solar system) of NoRail!

Gun Stuff!

We added more VFX and have a finalized Pistol model!

Logo Work

We got some Logo Concepts from one of our artists, and started to hone in on what we like! The two with circles are our most popular!

Production

  • More documentation! Including marketing/competitor, credits, art docs, etc.

  • Submitted Steam Page for Approval

  • Finalized General Narrative
